It's the end of an era for military veterans in Utah's nine southernmost counties.
Just in time for Memorial Day, officals in southern Utah have opened a new veterans' home, to served elderly and injured former members of the armed forces.
The new facility was funded with state and federal tax dollars -- along with $300,000 generated through a St. George fundraising campaign.
The new facility is located in the small town of Ivins -- just outside St. George -- which donated ten acres for its construction.
Until now, southern Utah veterans needing services have had to make the long drive to the Wasatch Front.
