INTERSTATE 84 -- THROUGH WEBER CANYON -- REMAINED OPEN WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON, DESPITE A UNION PACIFIC TRAIN DERAILMENT, VERY NEAR THE FREEWAY.

AARON HUNT -- WITH U-P -- SAYS, SOME EMPLOYEES -- ABOARD THE TRAIN -- SUFFERED MINOR INJURIES, WHEN THREE LOCOMOTIVES AND FIVE GRAIN CARS WENT OFF THE TRACKS.

THE DID NOT HAVE TO GO TO THE HOSPITAL.

OFFICIALS SAY TWO SEPARATE TRAINS WERE BOTH WESTBOUND THROUGH THE CANYON, WHEN ONE REAR-ENDED THE OTHER.

CREWS WERE WORKING TO CLEAN-UP THE SITE.

ALSO, A HAZMAT TEAM WAS ATTEMPTING TO STOP A FUEL LEAK, FROM ONE OF THE DERAILED LOCOMOTIVES.

ONE WESTBOUND LANE, OF I-84, IS CLOSED.  BUT THE FREEWAY WAS OTHERWISE OPEN, IN BOTH DIRECTIONS, WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON.
