#GoodNews: Former Marine Carries Legless Marine Brother Up Mt. Timp Trail

An incredible moment was caught on camera at Mt. Timpanogos on Saturday. Phil Casper posted on Facebook that he ran into 2 Marine veterans on his way down from the summit. The two had served together in Afghanistan. Johnathan Blain lost both his legs while serving our country when hestepped on an IED. The other Marine, John Nelson, was carrying him on his back….all the way up the mountain.

“The disabled vet said he weighed 135 lbs. They were committed to reach the summit. Having just exhausted myself to reach the summit with less than 5 lbs on my back, it was hard to fathom the drive that the pair possessed to achieve their goal.”

In an update on the post, Casper wrote that they made it to the top around 8 p.m.
