The British historical TV network conducted a survey and they discovered that most people aren't to jazzed about this year-- 2014 or even this decade.  Fifty-seven percent of respondents say they would rather live a decade other than the current one.  One in five say the 1960's.  The second most popular era chosen was Ancient Rome.  A lot of folks would like to see what it was like living in the 1950's or the roaring 20s.  Electricity was voted the top invention of all time, followed by penicillin and the wheel.  About 37 percent named the internet as the most significant invention ever (it wouldn't really work though without electricity, would it).  Rounding out the top ten was the personal computer, the printing press, sanitation systems, the car, the steam engine and the airplane.
