The night before Journey Huey’s 8th birthday, she and her grandma made and decorated cupcakes to share with her classmates the next day. But while driving to Sugar Bush Elementary School that morning, Grandma and Journey were in a rollover crash.
The birthday girl and her grandmother made it out safely and are fine, but the cupcakes? Not so much. Outagamie County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Sue Bolwerk helped them at the scene of the accident and then escorted them to school. But later she went above and beyond the call of duty by bringing some replacement cupcakes for Journey and her fellow students.
