Parker Smith is a junior in Indiana. His prom date, Addi, found the perfect dress, but it was too expensive. She joked that Parker should just make her a dress. He said, “You know what, I think I could actually make your prom dress.” He sketched out the design and taught himself how to sew with some help from his grandmother. He’s been working on the dress since February. The result was a beautiful blue, Cinderella style ball gown. He now wants to study costume design in college and become a Broadway costume designer.
