Army veteran Edward Pearson died last month. His obituary said he would be buried at Sarasota National Cemetery, that he had no immediate family, and "all are welcome to attend." The story was shared on social media. Florida governor, Gwen Graham, tweeted "Mr. Edward K. Pearson served our country. He has no family to attend his funeral. We can be his family." On Tuesday, an estimated 4,000 people showed up. Some came from hours away. Cars were lined up for miles to get to the cemetery.
