A Secret Santa helped make the holidays merry and bright for some Walmart customers this week. A Walmart spokesman says an anonymous man came into the store in Anniston, Alabama and paid off around $45,000 - covering all remaining layaway balances for dozens of customers.

A Secret Santa in Florida payed for diners' meals at a Cracker Barrel in St. Petersburg. Employees at the restaurant say it happened twice in one week. A man offered to pay for anyone eating alone one day, then on a second day he paid for everyone eating in the restaurant during a one hour period at dinnertime. In all, about 160 people enjoyed free meals. The restaurant manager says the man also made sure to tip all of the servers.
