69-year-old Iqbal Alimohd and his family spend every Saturday serving their community. Iqbal is a cab driver through the week, but for the past 15 years he’s spent his Saturdays buying and delivering groceries for the elderly.
His wife takes the grocery orders throughout the week, and they get to the grocery store bright and early on Saturday to do the shopping. Their 2 sons also help with delivering and unpacking all the groceries. Most Saturdays their day isn’t done until 7pm.
Iqbal says it started with a just few regular clients who needed the extra help. His operation now serves 20-25 people every week.
