Good News (1/23) - Stranger Buys Walking Device for 4-Year-Old

(New Jersey) - Luis, a 4-year-old with cerebral palsy, uses a wheelchair. Luis needs a device called the Upsee mobility device. The device costs $500 and helps a kid with motor impairment stand and walk with help from that other person.

The workers at the preschool Luis attends were trying to come up with ways to cover the cost. One substitute teacher at the school also works as an uber driver. While driving a passenger named Jim they started talking about Luis' situation. Jim offered to cover the full cost of the device even though he had never met Luis.

Jim got to witness Luis using the device for the first time and says you can't put a price on the kind of joy Luis experienced when he said, "I'm walking!"
