(Tennessee) - 10-year-old Ellie was very excited about her “Alice in Wonderland” themed birthday they were planning at a local hotel. Ellie's excitement began to fade away when she realized her grandma, Rita, would not be able to attend because she was recovering from spinal surgery in a nursing home. So Ellie and her mom reached out to the nursing home to see if they could hold her birthday party there so grandma could attend.
The nursing home agreed and on the day of the party Ellie and her friends surprised her grandma by knocking on her door and asking if she wanted to attend a tea party. Ellis said, "I loved it. It was so much fun! My favorite part was pretty much seeing the look on Granny’s face.”
