(Provo) - When Zack was 6-years-old he heard that many disabled people are not able to afford wheelchairs. He wanted to help out so he decided to spend his spring break running a lemonade & cookie stand. He planned to use the money to buy a wheelchair, which cost about $86.
Since then Zack, now 14, has spent every spring break for the past 8 years running the “Zack Shack.” During those 8 years he has raised over $85,000 and bought nearly 400 wheelchairs. Zack is now passing the tradition on to his younger sister, Helen (6). She plans to rename the stand to “Helen’s Hut.”
