(Pleasant Grove) – Ryan teaches 5th grade at Grovecrest Elementary. He started a food pantry where students who need a little extra help can get food for days they aren’t in school. The food items are things like microwavable mac and cheese bowls, applesauce, cereal, and other items the kids can make themselves.
The food pantry currently serves about 20 students and runs entirely on donations. The students who need help are referred by their teachers. Ryan sends out a flier at the start of each term to remind parents they are always looking for donations for the pantry.
