Companies that sell Halloween candy, costumes, and decorations are looking forward to a real treat this year. The National Retail Federation is forecasting a record $9.1 billion in spending this Halloween. Retail analysts predict more sales in every category related to October 31st. Shoppers are expected to spend $3.4 billion on costumes and 2.7 billion on candy.
Jack-o-lanterns, glow-in-the-dark skeletons, and other decorations are forecast to ring up another $2.7 billions.
