(Alabama) - Mr. Lawrence was teaching his sixth-grade students at Highlands Elementary when they noticed he was a little off. The kids asked what was wrong and he explained that his father-in-law had passed away over the weekend.
As the students were leaving and he was giving out high-fives and hugs, one girl put something in his hand. She gave him 75 cents and told him, “I know it was real expensive when my daddy died and I don’t want ice cream today anyways.”
