GOOD NEWS: He Walked 20 Miles To Work; Boss Gives Him Car

(Alabama) Walter’s car broke down the night before he was supposed to start a new job with a moving company, but he didn't panic. Instead, he set out on foot and walked more than 20 miles in the middle of the night to make sure he arrived on time.

After about 14 miles, police picked him up at 4 a.m. Once they learned his story, they took him to breakfast and then gave him a ride the rest of the way to the home where he was supposed to work that day.

The homeowner posted Walter’s story on Facebook and word spread to the CEO of the moving company, Luke Marklin. He drove to Alabama from Tennessee under the guise of meeting Walter for coffee to personally thank him. That meeting ended with Luke surprising Walter by giving him his own barely-driven 2014 Ford Escape.
