GoodNews: Girl's Christmas Letter To Serviceman in Vietnam

When John Metzler served in the Vietnam War, he got a Christmas card from a little girl he didn't know. The letter arrived on Christmas Day 1970 and it read in part: "Dear Serviceman, I want to give my sincere thanks for going over to war to fight for us. The class hopes you will be able to come home." The letter was signed, DonnaCaye. John was a 23-year-old Army helicopter sniper at the time. He said the letter helped him get through the war.

John’s family members were able to track down DonnaCaye in Florida and they just met for the first time.
