Brawl Breaks Out During Bingo Night At Canadian Nursing Home

Police had to be called after a brawl broke out at a Canadian nursing home on Bingo Night. The incident began when a 79-year-old woman sat down in a seat that is usually occupied by an 86-year-old woman. When the older woman saw the younger lady in her chair, she demanded that she move. Their argument quickly devolved into a “physical altercation,” and other residents at the care facility joined in the fight.

The situation quickly spiraled out of control and workers called the Ontario Provincial Police. Officers arrived and were able to get the situation under control. Nobody was injured and no charges were filed against the combatants.

"It was certainly an unusual call for us," Leeds County OPP spokesperson Constable Sandra Barr told the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation.

Barr said that he did not know if the game of bingo continued or if it was canceled for the night.
