The kindness of strangers saved a woman when a group of bystanders rescued a woman from a burning car in Louisiana. According to state police, the car was hit by a suspected drunk driver on a highway in Garyville, about 40 miles from New Orleans.
Anita Haley who was driving the opposite direction when she saw what happened and started recording as four men ran up to the car, which was engulfed in smoke and flames. They pulled her out of the window and carried her to safety. The woman then was taken to the hospital with minor injuries, and Trooper Melissa Matey reports at least one of the heroes got facial burns during the rescue.
“Such bravery and compassion for someone in a desperate situation,” Haley writes on Faceebook.“God bless and reward all those involved in saving this woman’s life.”
