A mother and daughter were recently rescued after a car accident thanks to Snapchat.
38-year-old Gemma Fairweather and her 7-year-old daughter Martha were teetering on the edge of a water-filled embankment after their car veered off of a country lane in England earlier this month.
Gemma called her boyfriend, who called emergency services, but the car was so hidden from the road that the rescue crew couldn’t find them. Her boyfriend’s 15-year old son decided to use Snapchat’s geo-location Snap Map tool, to pinpoint their location and was able to lead emergency responders to her location.
