#GoodNews: Dying Park Ranger Gets Last "Hike" Thanks to Firefighters

(Washington) 62 year old Edward Reis was a park ranger and an avid nature lover. Unfortunately, he suffered from multiple sclerosis, and the disease forced him to spend his final years in hospice care. He was unable to go outside and told a hospice worker that he wished he could take one last trip through one of his beloved local parks. The hospice worker contacted the local fire department and arranged a field trip for Edward.

A team of local firefighters carried Edward on a gurney through the park for 3 hours, periodically stopping at creeks and clearings so he could take in the scenery. Edward passed away shortly after his outing.
