A source close to Eddie Money, who died on September 13th at age 70, said he died from complications associated with the heart valve procedure he underwent in July.
Money announced a few weeks ago that he was battling stage 4 esophageal cancer. “I thought I was going in for a check-up and [the doctor] told me I have cancer. We found out that it was stage 4 and that it was in my liver and my lymph nodes and a little bit in my stomach… It hit me really, really hard.”

According to the NYC Medical Examiner’s Office, Ric Ocasek of The Cars died naturally of heart disease - Pulmonary emphysema was a factor. His estranged wife, Paulina posted on Instagram that “Ric was at home recuperating very well after surgery. Our two sons, Jonathan and Oliver, and I were making sure he was comfortable, ordering food and watching TV together. I found him still asleep when bringing him his Sunday morning coffee. I touched his cheek to rouse him. It was then I realized that during the night he had peacefully passed on.”
