Lamont Thomas is a single dad. Hebegan fostering children in 2000 and has since welcomed more than 30 kids into his home.
“In the beginning, I was helping out some friends. They had lost their child to the system. I went in and got certified and became a foster parent. I haven’t stopped since.”
2 years ago, he heard about 5 siblings under the age of 5 who had been separated. He decided to take them all in so they could be together, and started the process of adopting them. Why? Well, one of the kids he previously fostered is the father of the 5 kids. Lamont already had 2 biological children and 5 other adopted children. He’s now a single father of 12.
“I wanted to make a difference by being a difference for these youth,” Thomas explains. “They deserve to be raised as siblings.”
