Big Movies Getting New Release Dates

With movie theaters closing their doors amid coronavirus, a bunch of 2020’s big movie releases have had their releases delayed. Here are the new release dates.

• “A Quiet Place 2”: originally set to hit theaters on March 20th, but will now come out on September 4, 2020.

“Fast & Furious 9”: originally set to hit theaters on May 22nd, Vin Diesel’s latest ride will now come out on April 2nd, 2021.

“Ghostbusters: Afterlife”: first set to premiere on July 10th, the Jason Reitman-directed follow-up has been bumped until March 5th, 2021.

“Minions: The Rise of Gru”: Originally set to hit theaters on July 3rd, the animated origin story of Steve Carrell’s “Despicable Me” character will now premiere on July 2nd, 2021.

“MORBIUS”: Fans won’t see Jared Leto as the Living Vampire on July 31st, they’ll have to wait for another year when it comes out on March 19th, 2021.

"Candyman": Scheduled for June 12th has pushed back to September 25th.

“No Time To Die”: The 25th Bond film – and Daniel Craig’s last as 007 – has been pushed from April to November 25th 2020.

“Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway”: Originally set for release on April 3rd, James Corden’s second go as the eponymous rabbit will now hit theaters on January 15th, 2021.

“Sing 2”: Universal’s star-studded sequel was already set to come out in the summer of 2021, but now it’s been bumped until winter, hitting theaters on December 22nd, 2021.

Here are the movies still for release this summer, if all goes well....

"Spongebob Movie: Sponge on the Run": If nothing changes, nautical nonsense will still take place at theaters on Memorial Day weekend, May 22nd.

"Soul": Disney and Pixar's animated sequel is still set to debut on June 19th.

"Top Gun: Maverick": Tom Cruise's long-awaited follow-up is still set to hit theaters on June 24th. **UPDATE** Now pushed to DECEMBER!

"Free Guy": The Ryan Reynolds-led video game movie is still hoping to debut on July 3rd.

“Wonder Woman 1984”: For now, fans will only have to wait a few more months for Gal Gadot’s superheroine return. The movie has been pushed from June 5th to August 14th, 2020.

"Bill & Ted Face The Music": Fans have been waiting for Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter's return for decades... and as of now, they'll only have to wait until August 21st
