Katy Perry Reveals The Biggest 'Challenge' Since Welcoming Daughter Daisy

Katy Perry's transition to motherhood with her newborn daughter, Daisy Dove Bloom, has been as real as it gets.

During the pop star’s new interview with Hugh Jackman and his wife, Deborra-Lee Furness, the American Idol judge spoke about one of the biggest struggles for new parents: sleep. "I’m a new mother. My daughter, she’s such a gift, but there is sometimes a challenge concerning sleep. No matter how much support you have," the star told the pair during the Meditate America Benefit and Concert virtual event on Thursday (December 3). "But where am I going to get those six hours that I used to get? Where did it go?"

As you know, Perry and her fiancé Orlando Bloom welcomed Daisy Dove in August and have shared their joy over the new addition to their family on Instagram. Less than three months after giving birth, Perry returned to the set of American Idol, alongside fellow judges Lionel Richie, Luke Bryan and host Ryan Seacrest.

While Perry isn't getting enough sleep these days, the pop star has turned to some of her own resources, including transcendental meditation, to help her have some me time. "There’s been so many different ways TM has blessed me, but in this particular moment, as a new mother, I take 20 minutes," she told the couple, noting that she gets "the deepest rest" because of the practice.
