#GoodNews: HS Cross Country Runner Gives Up Race To Help Competitor

Brandon Schutt, a high school senior in Nebraska, was running in the final cross country meet of the season with hopes of running a good enough race to make it to the state meet.

With less than 400 meters to go, a runner from a competing school, cramped up and his legs gave out on him. Blake Cerveny tried multiple times to get up and finish the race, but his legs just couldn’t hold him up anymore.

That’s when Brandon came along. He helped Blake up and the two finished the race together.
