“If you need to restore your faith in humanity read on.....On Friday afternoon my husband and I took 4 of our 5 children grocery shopping at the Layton WINCO. From the minute we walked in the front door it was very obvious that our 5yo, whom we had just picked up from school, needed a nap. Her and our 3yo son were anything but quiet and calm while shopping. We were in a bit of a hurry and rushed to checkout with our 2 carts of groceries. The very nice woman in front of us talked with our kids while I was trying to unload carts with our now awake 3mo in my carrier (this is a very awkward task). I paid for the lunchables I had bribed the kids with mid store so my husband could run outside with the kids, so I could try to load bags as fast as possible so as not to slow the line because we took both sides of the belts. The cashier told me the total and I had to call my husband to bring me more cash back inside. As soon as I dialed the phone the cashier told me my groceries had been taken care of!!!! I was in complete shock and broke down sobbing like a baby. This was no small shop, our cupboards were bare, this was a $426 trip to the store for our family of 7! $426!!! I can only imagine what this person saw on the outside, our kids were melting, I was on the verge of melting myself. I could not contain every stressful feeling I have been hanging onto and I am so glad the kids were outside and did not see me cry while I was bagging my groceries and begging the cashier to tell me who it was so I could thank them properly. If this was you I have no words but thank you from the bottom of my heart. A few things you do not know is that I lost my entire career due to covid, my employer of 12 years laid me and 90 other people off and closed for 2 years. I was on maternity leave when it happened. We had to move out of state because of this. I had speant the entire last week praying about how to get ahead on essentials to be able to provide our family with Christmas. My income was more than half of our family income prior to covid and the industry I was in for 12 years has been cut in half. You just gave my family Christmas! We will 100% pay it forward as soon as we possibly can. For everyone else please know that big or small acts of kindness CAN change someones life. Buying that coffee, dinner or huge grocery bill DOES make a difference. Please help me pay it forward and be kind to everyone, you do not know what they are going through and you CAN make a difference!”
