PHOTO: "Princess Bride's" Cary Elwes Bitten By Rattlesnake

Cary Elwes of "Princess Bride" fame was just doing some work outside when he got bit by a rattlesnake! The bite happened near his home in Malibu... and he had to be airlifted to Ronald Regan UCLA Medical Center on Saturday.

Those around him supposedly felt as though it was a life-threatening injury, but thankfully, he is expected to make a full recovery. He shared an update to social media on Monday, showing off his finger where he was bite. He wrote, "Bit not by a ROUS but a rattlesnake. Grateful to the staff of Malibu Urgent Care, LA County Fire Dept. and the staff and medical professionals at UCLA for their great care. Am recovering well thanks to all these wonderful folks."

The ROUS reference? It stands for "Rodent of Unusual Size" which was a big joke in his movie "The Princess Bride." Cary was also injured on the set while filming the movie twice -- neither from a rattlesnake or even from a ROUS. Instead he was once knocked out by accident while filming a fake KO scene, needing stitches. The second time, he broke his toe.
