In 2003, Melanie Shaha of Gilbert, Ariz., started having headaches which doctors found were symptoms of a brain tumor. She had surgery to remove the tumor and had a great outcome. But the tumor returned two more times and she ended up having radiation in 2017 which caused her to lose her hair.
Melanie's 27-year-old son Matt said, “Why don't I grow out my hair to make a wig for you?” He grew 12 inches of hair, which was sent to a Newport Beach, Calif.-based company called Compassionate Creations. The company then delivered a hand-tied wig to Melanie made from Matt’s hair.
