A group of homecoming queen candidates in South Carolina ditched their shoes to support a fellow student.
Nataleigh Deal was among 12 ladies competing for the title of Homecoming Queen. She has Down syndrome and epilepsy, and had a seizure right before the homecoming game. Her sister said she was well enough at half time to walk again, but couldn’t wear her heels during the ceremony. So every single girl on the homecoming court took their shoes off, and they all walked barefoot together. Then, Nataleigh was crowned Queen.
