A man who was kidnapped 32 years ago in China was just reunited with his parents with the help of facial recognition technology.
Mao Yin was just two when he was abducted from a hotel in 1988. He was sold to another family who raised him as their own.
In April, police received a tip about a man who had bought a baby in the 1980’s. Using facial recognition technology, police analyzed old photos of Mao and were able to create a simulated image of what he might look like today. They compared the photo to the ones in a national database and tracked him down. He’s been going by a different name, but a DNA test proved he was Mao.
