A family fishing trip became dangerous when their boat capsized, but a brave teen saved her sister and father by swimming 600 yards to shore for help.
Kiana was fishing with her dad and 14-year-old sister in Maine when their boat started taking on water. She tried to get the water out using her sister’s boot, but they were in the water moments later. The 16-year-old says her dad was “in shock” and she knew she had to act fast, so she started swimming the 600 yards to shore. Once on the shore, she stripped off her wet clothes to warm up and ran naked screaming for help. Luckily an off-duty game warden’s wife heard her. By the time Kiana got back to her father and sister, the boat had sunk and they were suffering from hypothermia. Luckily, they are all ok.
