When schools shut down due to Covid, teachers everywhere were heartbroken over not seeing their kids. One teacher was worried his kids wouldn’t get lunch.
For 17 weeks Zane Powles got up every morning, packed 85 lunches, and walked 7.5 miles to deliver each one.
“When I started these walks I was concerned about the kids and their well being and I wanted to make sure I could see them all. I needed to know if they were safe, if they were healthy, and if they had access to food. I’m just doing my job at the end of the day. My role is to help nurture and educate children, and to take care of them.”
