32-year-old Unique Edwards fell ill with COVID-19 in June. It started with minor symptoms, and she ended up driving herself to the hospital after she started having chest pains and difficulty breathing. She was admitted for severe respiratory symptoms and diagnosed with COVID-19.
She was given convalescent plasma, and it saved her.
“I almost didn’t make it. They were scared I was going to be the worst-case scenario”
Now 4 months later, Unique was able to meet Kris Klug, the donor whose plasma was used.
